My manuscript - Worth of a Sorry was chosen for the fiction category - one of 635 manuscripts
Grasindo – from Kompas Gramedia group held a competition called PSA (Publisher Seeking Authors) – and at the very last minute before the deadline, I remember that I have this manuscript in 2012 which my editors in GPU haven’t had time to review. Sorry, my beloved editor in GPU, the manuscript belongs to Grasindo now 🙂
When I first wrote this highly imaginative manuscript, I have had a firm intention: The royalty is 100% for charity. There are three institutions that I chose: first is Indonesian Red Cross (PMI). I was so sad knowing that PMI only received IDR 25 million a month from the government for its operation, so it has to depend on foreign donation. The second institution I chose is Singapore Red Cross because I have dealt with them and I like the way they work (action and less talk). The last institution I chose is GPO (Gereja Presbyterian Orchard). This is because GPO has helped the “closure” of the story written. One thing that I need to highlight: novel royalty is not much. The most important thing for me is this is a realization of my promise. In my whole career as a novelist, this manuscript is the first one for charity. Currently I am working on the second manuscript for charity.
