Endorsers for Sepotong Kata Maaf

Actually I’m not an advicate of endorsement system – except for Salonpas (I’m serious, you can always find Salonpas in my bag, especially when going overseas). But this is part of #PSA (Publisher Seeking Authors) procedure, my editor asked me to get at least 3 endorsements. “It is usually from fellow writers,” she said.

Right away, I thought of Donna and Rina. This is their blog Primadonna Angela and Rina Suryakusuma, fellow GPU writers who know about this story since I started writing it last year.

When I got the message from my editor, Ms Anin, my husband was beside me. As usual, we like to find out about what each other is doing. “What is endorsement?” he asked. He must have thought that I was appointed to do some commercial or something.

I ran to my bookshelf and pick up a novel of mine (yay! I finally got my own bookshelf after getting married – although it is still messy and it only contains news books that I haven’t read so they are not yet sent to the boxes of my book catalog back in my parents’ house). “See this – it is only a maximum of 2 – 3 sentences, comments about this novel bla bla bla,” I said while pointing to the back cover of the novel. “It can be on the cover, or on a page inside the novel itself.”

He curiously look at the novel (by Meg Cabot) and nodded, “I can write one for you!”

Frankly, I was shocked, but what can I do? I can’t refuse my hubby’s good intention, right? It seems that he starts to embrace the life of being a husband to a “celebrity” novelist – that comes complete with a set of fans and haters, dedicated ones. Double serious. Dedicated. My hubby gives a hats off to them. They are really amazing. They monitor my twitter, my facebook pages. Even accusing two “romantic” poems written by him as mine posted through his account (this is just too much!). Do they think I’m so free to pretend acting romantic myself? I’m also super alergic to plagiarism. If the poem is my work, I will not allow my husband to claim it as his….

Back to the endorsement topic. I see it is actually very nice that my husband volunteered (hihihihi). Reason being:

  1. Makes Lisa even more grumpy
  2. Let Armand knows that my writing novel is 100% supported by my husband. It is his own fault for marrying a wife like Lisa who doesn’t know what a proper conduct is in the eyes of society
  3. Let my haters club be curious and then buy this novel (or buy one, and takes turn to read it as they are stingy). In any case, buying this book means donating to PMI (Indonesian Red Cross)

So my three endorsers will be Primadonna Angela, Rina Suryakusuma, and my own husband.
